This project was a special treat for me. I love the color of this fiber, which is Hello Yarn fiber club April 2011, 4oz of Targhee, colorway Sprout.
I chain plied it, and got 312yds, with long color runs.
I paired it with some FatCatKnits variegated Merino, 2-ply.
And got this shawl. My only regret is, that I never got to the yellow part of the Sprout yarn, that would have been awesome!
pattern: Andrea shawl by Kirsten Kapur (purchased the pattern ages ago, and only now got to knitting it) This is a wonderful shawl to knit. You start with the outer edge border, and pick up stitches for the main body.
I had some trouble picking up stitches for the top edge. I did not get nearly as many stitches as the pattern called for, but it worked out alright. I also left the last three stitches of the main body on my needles, and when I picked up for the edge, I just knit them. I think this looks pretty neat as well. I had a hell of a time blocking this one.
This is also my shawl # 11 for this year!
I know, so many pictures, but I really like this one a lot.

Beautiful! The colours blend so good together. Have a great weekend too :)
That shawl is so effective! Lovely. No pup pictures..?
Oh, it's very pretty!
When you do not know about the yellow part, you don't miss it. There is lots of yellow anyway, but I understand your thoughts.
I did not block my Andrea's shawl because of the needly bulging edge, but I can see know, that I should probably block it, because it makes the outer edges very pretty and more distinct.
Beautiful shawl!! Long weekend here, too.
The yellow would have been wonderful! I like it as is!
Seriously??? 11 already??? Crazy - I have seven done.
It is lovely.
really pretty! i love that pattern and your shawl really works with your lovely green walls.
A beautiful job! I love it. It looks very wearable too.
Absolutely fabulous. I adore the colour combination, sensational
I looooooooooooooove that shawl! I also love that you used your handspun to make it.
Have a wonderful weekend.
This is absolutely beautiful, and your handspun is divine!
I've had this shawl queued for a while now, and it's so cool that there can be so many different combinations for making it! Lovely melding of colours, as usual!
AH! I am so stripe-obsessed these days! I love it Monika! So beautiful!
It's really lovely! I've had my eye on knitting this shawl for a while myself.
Of course, I won't have super awesome handspun to work with. :)
'Grellow" is a very trendy colour, and I am sad you didn't get to the really yellow part, but I would never have known!! The shawl looks beautiful.
