Give me a Break!!!

Can you believe it? It's the end of November and our backyard looks like this.

Nov. 29-give me a break

It's been raining all day, heavily, so much so that when I took the dogs outside, they let their heads hang, and looked at me as if to say, "are you kidding me?", and went right back inside. I didn't blame them. Out front it's the same. Plus, another bonus for this time of year (not), it gets dark early, and I have to go find their poop with a flashlight, in the rain, on a dark ground. Give me a break!

If there would be snow, I would find everything without a flash light, the dogs would be wet, but not dirty. O.K. end of rant. It doesn't help, but I don't want to suffer in silence.

It didn't look good for my November spinning early in the month, but then I decided on a big spinning project, where I'm spinning undyed variegated BFL fiber, and that goes really fast. I still have a lot more to go, but it's fun spinning. The four finished skeins have not had a bath yet. I'm waiting to finish it all, and then they'll hop into a dye bath.

November spinning

I had to rest my right wrist the last few days, too much spinning, and the day before yesterday I knit a hat in a few hours, that didn't help either (but was totally worth it). More about that soon (as soon as the hat is dry, and I can take pictures, which also depends on the weather, nothing but grey here).

How am I supposed to write a cheerful blog post, when all I want to do is cry like a baby in a wet diaper?
Well the D-man is always good for a laugh!

big enough?

Whenever we bring home a bone this big, it's naturally his. He chews it through the middle, and after it's divided the others may have a go at one part of it as well.

That's too much rain. It can't stay that way long at the end of November. Snow must be on the way soon.

We have filthy muddy weather here too, with more rain forecast and not drying up for a while. I had filthy dogs when we got back from yesterday's run. Oh well, at least mine aren't white!

Looks like our yard... We're missing the snow here too. The kids don't want to be outdoors and play - they don't think it's fun with the mud anymore...

They said on the radio that Ont. was going to have a late start to winter, the west was going to have a colder than normal winter and the east was going to have higher than normal temps.
It will come!

Denny is so cute with that giant bone. Sorry about the mud in your yard. I still have so many leaves in my yard that I can't find the dog poop either. I figure it'll all get raked up together?

Wow and Yuck! I'd rathe have snow. Hope your mud dries up soon.
Nothing better than picking up frozen poops; chiseling them out of the ice & snow.
Nothing better to do on a rainy day than chew on a good bone. He looks so content!

It's okay to complain about the muddy dogs; many of us understand!! If only my dog would walk around, instead of racing to the back fence where there is a big pile of dirt! This morning I came downstairs and found muddy dog tracks all through the kitchen and hall (and leading up the carpetted stairs). I know it's dark in the morning when hubby is having breakfast, but we DO have lights, and gee, wouldn't you think that it's muddy out there with all this rain?! To make me even more grumpy---friends in southern Indiana got SNOW yesterday!

the ground looked exactly like that where we were camping last weekend. thankfully i had my rain boots on.

i can't wait to see your latest spinning project! i have pain issues sometimes too. it can be hard to make yourself rest.

That is a lot of water in your garden. We have excellent weather today, cold but sunny.

What a huge bone you have there for the dogs. Ysja doesn't like bones like that and the only thing she will do with it is dig a hole in the garden and bury the bone!

Oh yes, I know how you feel too. Except there is no hope here, it will be wet and muddy until June (except a couple of weeks of frozen weather over the Winter). Even though I've lived here most of my life I never get used to it.

Ug. Our backyard is the same but the pasture is better. Tank has finally gotten over his hate of rain because his need to run is so much greater. I doubt we'll have snow though because we barely did last year and though I hear the snow tires chittering down the road I think people are over prepared. I'm right now washing my dog towels. I feel your pain!

Oh man searching for dog poop in the mud on a dark and rainy night! I feel for you :) Luckily you have lots of nice wooly things to keep you warm! Speaking of which that's a beautiful stack of handspun there.

Love the picture of Denny and his gigantic bone ~

But all that grey and wet will lead to lovely greenery. And your spinning is pretty delightfully cheery, if a pain to produce.

Did you get some snow today? It looked pretty wild from my office window.

Denny is hilarious - that bone is as long as he is!

That Denny! He should have his own TV show! Too funny.

The weather here is different every day, but because it gets dark early it feels like a gray day every day. Mercifully, we haven't had much rain.

Yes, it's really rainy here too! I guess it's good for the rivers! Nice yarn and I love the sneak pick of your living room! It looks very nice!

You poor thigs, with all the mud and greyness. It is not very cheery at all. That is a ginormous bone I'm glad he divides it up and hares!!
