Jagged - March socks

I almost forgot about my March socks! I've uploaded pictures to flickr and ravelry some time ago and moved on. Well here they are: Jagged

March socks - Jagged

pattern: Jagged by Kirsten Kapur
yarn: Wandering Cat Yarns Barn Cat in Spruce Goose & Lime/Mango
needles: 2.5mm
start-finish: March 1-14, 2011
mods: There's nothing wrong with the pattern, but I don't like short row heels for my feet, so I made my go-to heel, and only did the slip stitch pattern on the instep stitches.

I loved this pattern as soon as I saw it, and I'm glad I got a chance to knit them. I like the cuff, but if I were to knit them again, I would use a larger needles size for the cuff, since it's a bit tight, and not very stretchy. But the rest of the socks is stretchy, which surprised me a little. I like the colors as well. WCY Barn cat is lovely to work with.
I've already worn them, and even washed them in the washing machine, because they got stretched out, and I wanted to shrink them a little. Went well too.

I've cast on for my April socks, which were requested. Since they have to be knit fast, and be on their way asap, I didn't pick a difficult pattern. I'm already past the heel with the first sock! Yeah! I might have to knit another pair in April, chosen from a sock book, but we'll see how it goes. So many other things I want to do.

Last night as we went for a walk with the dogs, it snowed big fat snow flakes. In the morning everything was white again, but it melted away as soon as daylight came out. During the day there was a warm wind, and it brought me a major headache. The pups are feeling cuddly, and are behaving themselves.

Cool colors! I'm glad you mentioned the sock being stretchy- it is a requirement for so many people I knit for. I'm adding this one to my ever-growing list of Want To Knits. Thanks, Monika.

I bet those pups had a lovely time with the snow flakes!!
Lovely socks, I don't like a pattern on the sole, and I like proper heels with flaps too.

Apparently Mother Nature didn't get the memo about no more snow until next winter. :-) We're expecting thunderstorms soon so any snow left will probably be melted by tomorrow. The socks are really nice. Are there any issues with the colorwork on the top of the sock and straight stripes on the bottom?

Great colorway - perfect for those socks! We had what my NOLA friend calls "Katrina weather" yesterday - heavy rain and high winds. Today, sunny, but cold. Will spring ever arrive????

I love the way the pattern changes for the top (and at the sole)

I really like those colors! I've added that pattern to my queue and I think I'd also change the heel like you did.

I always feel like I'm almost done once I've turned the heel :) I'm close to finishing up my first pair in almost a year!

Enjoy those cuddles :)))

Love the socks. I don't know how I missed this pattern but I'll check it out.

Snow again! Will the weather ever settle down. We are headed for a possible freeze tonight after having 80+ temps.

There were flurries as I was driving to the car dealership last night... and then I bought a convertible... that should make spring come... right???
