Today Denny spent all day at the Vet's. It started at around 3AM, or maybe it started a week ago. In any case. For a week now, he vomited once or twice a night, but this last night, he didn't stop vomiting, even as I talked with the Vet's assistant on the phone, he vomited twice, so off he went for a closer look inside his tummy.
Susan, it was NOT a stone! I was thinking about you and Cooper all the time! In fact they couldn't find any obstruction at all. They suspected corn on the cob, since he swallowed a piece some time ago, but coughed it up in two sessions. I still have no idea what's wrong with him. He was restless, and whiny, obviously not feeling well. They said he didn't vomit there at all. I hope this means it's all a good sign. He's got to go in tomorrow morning again, for another looksie.
It was a horrible day of waiting, after a LONG night with not much sleep. I'm exhausted, drained, I guess the heat had something to do with this too. We just learned yesterday, that demolishion in our house (in preparation of renovations) will start August 2nd, and not middle of August. That means we've got a ton to do, and all our plans for today had to be moved to tomorrow.
Happy was looking for Denny all over. Whenever we went outside, he patrolled the backyard, looking behind every tree, and bush, always looking at us with question marks in his eyes.
Alright, lets hope this night will be better, and Denny just had an upset stomach, since his middle name is Hoover, and we have to take stuff out of his mouth a hundred times a day.

I hope the corncob is what's wrong with Denny! That's worrisome, but he is a little Hoover. Poor baby. Babies. All of you. Sweet to see that Happy loves his little brother.
My friends dog eats his toys so he can't ever be left alone with one or he'll be coughing up tennis balls the next day. That's sweet that Happy was worried about Denny. Good luck with the packing. Stressful now but I bet everything will look great when it's done!
hoping he is better soon.
hugs
Poor Denny! Hope he feels better@
Here's hoping Denny is ok. Here's to a better night and a successful trip to the vet tomorrow. Milo was sick for three days last week, so I know how worried you are.
oh goodness I hope its just something he hoovered and is finally out of his system. Thinking of you all and hoping you get some sleep tonight.
Happy`s come along way from not being sure about the water rat to loving the fur off him huh :)
Oh, no! It sounds just like what we went through with Cooper - I'm glad to hear that they couldn't find an obstruction. Corn cobs are awful for causing trouble. I so hope that he gets better really soon! Keep us posted.
I hope the little guy is okay. Worse than having kids.
Poor Denny, I hope it is just a tummy upset and he is right as rain ASAP. Happy is such a loyal and good brother!! Denny is very lucky!! Peri ands Gilly send tail wags.
Oh, good luck with the house packing up.
Ahhh.... hope he's feeling much better by now! Sofee sends her best tool
Hope it's nothing serious and that he gets well fast!
Fingers crossed! I hope the vet figures out what it is quickly. (and that it is nothing major)
I hope Denny is going to be OK. Maybe he ate something, but maybe he's having a reaction to this darned heat!
Ich druecke ganz doll die Daumen, dass es dem kleinen Racker bald wieder ganz gut geht.

Hoping he's better. My first basset actually had "accute garbage gut" written in his chart a couple of times. Pepcid and a diet of home-cooked chicken and rice would get him back on track so he could do it all over again.
I will be thinking of you and hope that he will be all better soon.
Poor you and poor Denny ! I hope that whatever was causing the vomiting has passed . Sweet Happy, missing the little guy ...
That is a scary thing...to have a dog eat something unseen and you know throwing up is trying to get it out.
One of our dogs my husband calls a peta dog--it's some kind of explanation for a dog that eats anything (or rolls in it) and we have come home many times to find that she ingested plastic, or a book, or a shoe. She cows when we ask her, but really there is no way to punish her after the deed is done. And who knows what all must be in her stomach.
