Mail from Australia!

Hannah sent me this signed copy of really wild tea cosies by Loani Prior, with a newspaper article, and a lovely card. I'm delighted! This book is so fun to look through, and while I don't know when I'll knit my tea pot a new dress, I'm sure it will get one eventually. :o) My favorite is the one from the title page, but I think everybody would have guessed that. :o)

I took advantage of some destash on ravelry and got me some of this Rowan Rowanspun Aran yarn in a delicious green. I've got enough for a blanket, and so I've cast on for Surrounded by The Raineysisters. I'm a little bit further with it, but not much. This will be a long term project. I still have to finish my Giant Granny Square blanket, but crochet is still out for now.

After I finally finished Brandywine shawl by Romidesign, I cast on for Frozen Leaves shawl by Anusla a Russian knitter/designer. It's been on my mind for some time now, and what a pleasure it is to knit! I'm a lot further with that one. This will be my # 5 shawl for 2010. I'm using some yarn from my stash, which is Posh Yarn Camilla, which is discontinued. I've got it in two colorways, one skein each. It's 100% cashmere, and even though it splits terrible, it give a wonderful knit fabric.

And as for the pups, each is enjoying a good bone for a minute or two, before they decide the other ones bone is much better, and start a fight.

I love seeing the pups together. The other dog's bone is always better and we have the swapping and the the further swapping, but sometimes Peri has two bones!!!
The tea cosy book is everywhere here at the moment, in all the book shops in town.
Oh lovely green blanket and pretty shawl. You are racing ahead, shawl number 5 already!!

Hi Monica - I've knit two of the Wild Teacosies from the first book - one with roses and one with sandwiches on the top - both as presents and both so much fun. My pot needs a couple from the new book too. BTW - love your new family member. You can feel his softness in the photos!

Jewel is the bone pig in this house. Maggie seems to prefer her rawhides and stuff once Jewel has chewed on it for awhile. Must soften it up for her.

Love the photo of the pups enjoying their chewies . I just want to give Denny a cuddle , he's that cute and his coat looks so soft ...

Love your yarn choices for both of those projects especially the shawl .

The pups are so dear! I love to see them snuggled together like that. So sweet, I'm sure, until the snarling begins. Love all your projects, as usual. Such a pretty color for the blanket.

your Frozen Leaves is going to look beautiful! I can just imagine how soft it is!

I only have one tea pot, but it doesnt need a cozy, it's shaped like a fat little dragon... I suppose I could knit him a sweater one day.

Love the picutre of the boys!

It's a wonder you have time to knit at all with two pups. Love the color you chose for Frozen Leaves.

Hannah came through! Yay! More projects!

Your knitting mojo must have returned because there's projects popping up all over your house!

You are one brave woman to take on all the cables on Surround, but it's a stunning piece of work and I'm sure you'll do it justice.

Lots of fun projects you have going there. The tea cozy book looks interesting and I can't wait to see what you knit from it. The two boys look so cozy with their bones. Makes me really want a playmate for Nimitz!

I always forget how much work puppies are, but it's worth it! I recommend puppy/dog training classes, as they seem to help me work with my dogs on a regular basis. At any rate, both of your dogs are darling!!!

Hallo Monika,

weißt du, was ich an Deiner Stelle machen würde?

Hey Monika
Thank you so much for showing off my little book here at your blog. What a treat. I am having the best fun with it all. Still some book events to do over the next weeks and then the workshops begin. It is a knitting life.
Cheers

Do she have an English version of the Frozen Leaves pattern or are you just following charts? LOVE the cool socks and the puppy pics! My favorite is in the latest post with Denny curled up against Happy.
