MAKE IT STOP!!! This little one is so gassy, that even Happy sniffed the air and moved away. I'm gagging here!
I'm sorry for those who come here for actual knitting content. I've already got so many photos of the two of them, but I'll show you my Hamamelis shawl instead. :o)
This shawl took me longer than it should have. Somehow I did not get into the rhythm (oy, gag) of it. It has no restful all purl wrong side rows, but I had to stick to the chart for every row. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this shawl, loved the look of it, the moment I saw it first. And I had the most wonderful yarn to knit it with.
I made the large version, AND added a third repeat for the edge. It's still a small shawl.
Here are the specifics:
pattern: by Kirsten Kapur
yarn: Wandering Cat Yarns Fluffy Cat, color: Pink Pearl, 70/20/10/ Alpaca/Silk/Cashmere, 4-ply fingering, 400yds, used 147g = 588yds.
needles: 3.75mm
size after blocking: 29" x 63"
start-finish: Feb. 22 - March 21, 2010
I love the stitch pattern of the main body, and of course the lovely garter stitch border is what drew me in the first place.
O.K. here's one picture of the two of them:
I have to say though, after spending 3 days cooped up in the kitchen with Denny (his choice, he WANTED to be with him), Happy just wanted to get out today. He was very content chewing a bone, just outside the baby gate, looking IN.
And just now, I asked him, if he'd like to go for a car ride, and a second later you could only see the tail end of him. That's the dog who a few days ago, didn't like car rides. :o)
I wonder why they were so eager to leave. Funny, the computer screen is blurry, oh, my eyes are watering, must crack a window ...

That's a very pretty pink. I think that what helps with shawl knitting is that there's a relaxing purl row. It looks like it was worth your effort. Sounds like you need to put Denny outside with you so you can get some fresh air!
aww, big puppy paws are so adorable!
love your shawl! i really liked this one when it came out, and your soft pink puts it over the top. i might have to copy you. not that i have any pink yarn at the moment. oh wait..actually i do :-)
The shawl is gorgeous!!! I love the color and it looks so soft. I've queued it too, it looks like a lot of work, but it's such a pretty pattern. Very cute puppy! :)
The shawl looks FANTASTIC!!!! I love it! Love it! Love it!
Too bad about the smell, but Denny is too cute to give up - maybe invest in some air fresheners? Or a gas mask?
Pretty Shawl! As to Denny's gassiness: I highly recommend Natual Balance dog food. We have been feeding this to our dog since he was a puppy and he is the most "gas free" dog I have ever had the pleasure of being owned by.
WOW! The shawl is amazing. Awesome colour choice. And Happy looks very happy. :)
Hope your little windbag gets deflated soon! lol!
Love the shawl. :)
Ahhhhh.....keep the puppers photos coming..... please! He's adorable!
Oh - and the shawl is nice too. ;)
ok, the farty puppy is making me laugh.
And the shawl is absolutely lovely. Gorgeous color, gorgeous knitting... beautiful.
How fine and lovely the shawl is! The colour is perfect.
Given your puppy's "gassy" situation, I find it funny that my verification word is one letter off from "pungent."
Your shawl is SO very Beautiful! what a lovely shade of pink, mmmm.
Hee. Puppy Love! he's a cute little stinker ;^)
The shawl is gorgeous - love it! I love the colorway you chose for it, and I know that's great yarn. Very pretty!
Too funny about Denny (but its only funny because I'm here and not there dealing with it!) Hope it gets better!
Gorgeous! I may copy you AND Sara and make a pink one too :-)
Hope the air has cleared...
Gorgeous shawl & I love the color.
You can try feeding Hill's i/d at least until his tummy matures a bit. It's been tested and approved for puppies and there is no need to gradually switch over to it like you need to do with most dog foods. A lot of puppies get tummy troubles when moving to a new home. Has Denny been dewormed yet?
Very pretty shawl!
Lovely shawl, pretty lace pattern and border.
Oh poor you, poor Denny, poor Happy. Happy looks like he has Denny under control. Amazing what a little competition will do for a dog's love of car rides!!!
I'm laughing so hard I have tears running down my cheeks! Maybe there's been a change of food?
Beautiful shawl! I love garter shawls.
The shawl is gorgeous! The yarn and pattern came together perfectly.
I LOVE how Happy has his paw on Denny. They are so adorable.
My condolences on the gas. My Samantha could clear a room, too.
Your shawl is GLAMgorgeous! It's so pretty in pink and it's a vision of lovliness. Wear it well.
Too bad you can't use Denny's gas in your car! You wouldn't have to go to the gas station EVER. You might need to change his food - at least until the air clears.
Talk about polar opposites in this post - gorgeous shawl intermixed with stinky dog farts. :)
That is the most beautiful Hamamelis I've seen though.
I love yor Hamamelis , the colour and yarn are simply lovely .
Hope the little gas factory situation improves soon . Love the photo with Happy's big paw resting protectively on Denny .He seems to have taken the little guy under his paw so to speak ...
I love the shawl. The pink is perfect. so soft, and feminine.
Beautiful shawl! I love the patterns you find. Please keep posting your shawl pattern picks. I've been trying to keep up with my own shawl knitting.
As far as the puppies...gas or no gas please keep posting pictures of the two of them. Adorable. I like how Happy's paw is on Denny's back.
The shawl is beautiful! Denny definitely has that male thing going on, huh?
I just love the color you chose! I cant believe I missed a few days of blog feeds and I come back and you have a puppy!!! GOOD for you!!
hahaa I hope it clears up but I must say, Boss is still rank to this day :)
Beautiful shawl and doggie pic, big brother Happy laying down the law heee
Your shawl is stunning ~ a lovely color for Spring and Summer clothes. I like the size too - it's not too big and not too small - just perfect!
I'm sure you are exaggerating about the gas ;) But you say Happy wanted to go for a car ride - LOL
Beautiful shawl, beautiful color.
I had a college friend whose parents where like my parents. I occasionally would spend the night at their house and their Chihuahua Penny would hop on the bed and pass the most horrendous gas.
I couldn't help but laugh when I read this.
Liebe Gruesse

Your Hamamelis is beautiful!
I love reading your funny stories about your dogs.
This is truly a stunning shawl! Wow!
Your puppies are darling together--I'm really enjoying hearing about their daily grind :)
What a spectacularly beautiful shawl!! I love the soft color and the nice wide edging! It just whispers, "come cuddle..." So nice!
Wow, das Tuch ist wunderschön!
Grüße aus Germany

What a gorgeous shawl! You must have enormous patience and perseverance, I think!
Denny is extremely cute. Even though I'm Australian, I've never had a blue heeler. They seem to be great dogs, though, but need an awful lot of exercise to replace all of that cattle rounding up they're not doing when they're not living on a farm! I hope his temperament is manageable once you've had some pointers and he grows up a bit.
