Well, here's what you really want to know: We picked Biko up today.
When they brought Biko out, she started to cry and after that, she howled like a wolf, because crying didn't seem to express her feelings. She settled down quite quickly once we were on our way. This time she slept throught the drive, and once home, she had a fine pee, and now she's in the living room, her living quarters for some time to come. She'd rather go into her beloved basement, where the TV is, but she's not allowed on stairs yet. She seems to move quite well. At first we were shocked to see her shaved back, and the large incicion. She's got pills to pop now, and lots of TLC from all of us.
I think she's quite traumatized, you can see it in her eyes, but now that she's home, she'll get over it soon.
The Clinic she had her surgery has their own website. In the link below you can see the Neurologist who did examen her.
Dr. Duque is the attending Veterinarian.I'm off now, to snuggle with Biko, and try to keep Sam away with his forcefull wagging tail. The days to come should be interesting.
Have a great weekend all!

She looks a little stunned in the photo. Poor thing. It's amazing how fast they get over traumatic events when they're at home where they're comfortable. Give a pet for Nimitz and me! :-)
awww glad to here she's doing well.
I am very happy for you that Biko is back home and I hope she will be herself again soon!
Yay! Welcome home, Biko!
So glad Biko is home. She will mend quickly now with everyone by her side and familiar surroundings. That's what she needs. I imagine Sam is happy to have her home, too. She looks good in the photo, but her howling must have broken your heart. All will be well soon. Still praying.
Welcome home Biko! I'm sure both of you feel better about being home! Let the healing begin! Enjoy the weekend too!
I'm so glad you baby got through the surgery okay and is now home. What an ordeal for a dog to go through. It's amazing the work vets can do now for conditions that were once untreatable. Very best wishes to you and your family (two and four legged) from my little dogs and me.

Poor Biko . . . Here's hoping she has a speedy recovery. That's got to be so scary for a dog--you take a nap and wake up all sore without your family there to make you feel better. I'm glad she's home!
Oh I am so glad to see Biko up and walking. I expect she was VERY happy to see you all!! Hair grows back quite quickly!!!!!
I'm glad she's home safe and sound - I bet she'll recover quickly in her loving home!
give Biko a big 'ol squeeze for me. Good to have the whole family together again under one roof.
I'm so glad Biko is ok!! She looks kinda skinny, you need to spoil her and give her lots of treats :)
Happy to hear you have her home again. Please keep us updated on her recovery, okay?
Welcome home, Biko! I am glad that you are well taken care of. Wish you a speedy recovery.
Ich bin richtig erleichtert, dass Biko wieder da ist - habe mich schon so an Deine Zwei gewöhnt!! Jetzt verwöhn sie mal und dann ist sie schnell wieder "die Alte"
erfreute Grüße von Heike
So good you have Biko home again! Wishing her a speedy recovery!
I bet she's glad to be home, and you, too! I'm sure she'll be in better spirits now that she's home. Glad everything is going well. :)
I'm so glad to hear Biko is home and on her way to recovery.
When I read your shadow story, made me wonder if that's a sign that there is going to be 6 more weeks of winter ahead. http://www.groundhog.org/
Glad she's home. I am sure your days will be filled with hugs and doggie kisses.
:)
I know how frightening the shaved parts seem; so vulnerable and fragile. With your loving care, I know that she'll be back to her old self very soon.
I feel like I have fallen of the face of the earth. I haven't been reading for a while so I had to read back about Biko. I'm so glad that she is home with you and I'm sure she will be herself again very soon.
Hope Biko is feeling better by now...poor little doggie! I know she'll get lots of loving care and be back to normal real soon :)
Aw, poor Biko! But she's home again and in much better health now.
Jumped at your own shadow! You are super stressed out, Monika! I can see why though. You're in my prayers that you have no more reasons to be so stressed.
I'm glad the surgery went well. Sending good wishes your way!
she is just such a stunning dog. i'm glad that she's home and resting, now. i am sure you'll have a grand time trying to keep sam calm around her.
oh, i added you to my friends on ravelry (i finally got my invite). i'm chlortence. ;)
Liebe Monika,
Ganz herzliche Grüße an Euch
Susanne
Welcome home, Biko! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
