Doggies are good filler material. The weather is wet, but the temperatures are fine for now. Wet means, we have wet and dirty dogs. They enjoy being outside much more now, and have more stamina, since the heat is gone. Biko is always focused on her tennis ball, nothing else is important. Sam's about to shake off a few droplets, which fell on him creeping through the bushes. He hates water!
He felt stalked, because wherever he went with his ball, there I was, pointing the camera at him. He looks friendly enough in this picture, but right after he "yelled" at me, or maybe it was an invitation to play with him. He's kicking and holding on to his red ball with his front legs, and that's what they look like afterwards. This is not even so bad, since the rest of his body is still clean.

So, that's it. Nominees, feel free to continue giving this award, or not, if you have a hard time finding blogs, which make you smile. I didn't, it's always harder to just select a few.
Anything else for today? Hmm, I better go knit some more on my Christmas presents, so I can get back to normal blogging soon. See ya! ;o)
Thank you, Shannon for your help with the side bar. I had an error in one of my links.

It is surprising how much different needles alter the tension. I think the yarn grips more on the bamboo. I prefer to knit both socks at the same time on one long magic loop needle.
Wow, the socks are great! I can see what you mean though. What probably happened is either you were still trying to figure out the pattern when you first knit it and it turned out a little loose, or you stored it somewhere warm and it relaxed a bit. Not sure if the latter is possible or not with wool.
Your kids look like they're having fun! My mike refuses to play with toys. He does however have a stuffed pony. That's the only thing he's every HAD to have. A stuffed animal. If he doesn't have one, he will literally steal one, which consists of him actually dragging some poor bear or frog to his special area and then throws a tantrum when anyone takes it. :D What personalities these guys have.
What can I say? You make me *smile* too! You, Sam, Biko are a delight to visit. Thank you for thinking of us.
Oh don't worry it will all come out in the wash...so to speak. I bet the difference in their sizes is merely the fact that you used bamboo on one of them and metal dpn's on the other. My gauge changes every single time I change the type of needles I use. You were/are prob'ly more concerned about needles falling out when you use the metal dpn's, even if it is only a sub-conscience fear.
I make you smile...That's got to be one of the nicest things anyone has ever said. :o)
The socks look fabulous! Love the ribbing, really interesting effect.
I just love how your socks are knitting up, the yarn is so beautiful.
The socks look great - love the pattern.
I think you're knitting tighter with the metal needles. :( Hopefully it wont matter much when you're done. I love the color of them!
Gauge is always tighter with metal than bamboo...the stitches slip off the metal fastest and so they tighten up more as they are moving off the needle. I'm sure it's not enough to matter in the wearing and a good soak will even things out but now you know it's not an optical illusion OR your tension!
I try to use the same needle set for both socks, that's why I knit one at a time. When there's too much time between the first sock and the second, it has happened that they looked a tad different nonetheless. (Sometimes I might imagine it, who knows.) I know that I knit differently with bamboo needles, the fabric seems to be a bit tighter than the same knit with metal needles.
Wow, Monika I am so flattered. Your blog makes me smile, too! Yay! Ah, the muddy paws- - - familiar site around these parts, too.
That's interesting...I didn't know gauge would be different depending the needle type. I wonder where plastic falls...time to experiment? Another reason I guess to aways do your swatch.
Lovely socks and lovely dogs!
Gracee, too, is a white dog. My last Scottie was black and I cringe to think how dirty she must have been, but the dirt didn't show up. It's only after owning a white dog that I realize how much more practical a black coat is.

Your blog makes me smile too, as long as everyone is healthy. The puppies look good! Romping around.
Those socks are cute! Everything I do in pairs is a different size no matter what. At least you've only done it this once.
And your yarn looks positively scrumptious.
Deine Socken sehen toll aus. Sehr interessantes Muster.
What beautiful socks! I esp. like the yarn--such a warm, sunny color. And I always love seeing pics of Sam and Biko.
I always knit tighter with metal needles...I think I am afraid of stitches slipping off. I also tend to knit looser with bamboo for the opposite reasons... I agree that they will even out with washing. Sam and Biko are adorable!!!
