Flechttuch - Braided Shawl!

There's not much to show and tell. I finally, finally reached the first yarn over row. I thought I would never get there. Now a couple more rows and the game is on. Knitting 200 fringes, to be braided after. Now, of course, I have some concerns about the amount of yarn left. I had 6 skeins, used up three of them already, started the forth. The pattern calls for 4 x 230 meters. My skeins are 175yds each. It should work out, if they indeed have the yardage on them, as promised. I don't suppose someone reading my blog, would have a couple of skeins kicking around in just the colorway I would need? It's Koigu KPPPM P124 dye lot 151. I suppose not, since I bought it about a year ago. Keep your fingers crossed, so it will be O.K.!

Oh, Monika, that is *beautiful* yarn! I can't wait to see the shawl--it looks like it will be deliciously snuggly. :)

Woo, looks great! I can't wait to see the braiding part. I'll check my Koigu stash for 124 in said dye lot.

I only wish I had some of that yarn floating around. I'd send it off to you. It's such a beautiful shawl. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished. BTW..sorry I didn't get to say it earlier, but your socks for your son were gorgeous! My husband liked them too. Which sparked his "need" for new socks. It's just, when I knit him socks, he refuses to wear any other. He loves knitted socks a LOT. Heheh..Oh well. Glad to see you're feeling a little better. I hope you're doing well though. Remember drink tea now and then and relax.

Ah ha...enter the joy of Ravelry. I asked if anyone hd a couple of balls of a yarn that had been discontinued for over 3 years and within one day I had two people sending it to me.

AHa! I have three skeins of 124 but the dye lot is 127. Don't know if that will help, but at least it would be close. Let me know if you want them. They're not going anywhere.

Good luck on the yarn. I'm on my 5th ball now and have about 20 more very long rows to go. So I hope you are fine, but I guess that proves that patterns sometimes lie about the yardage.

I have five colourways of older Koigu in my stash, but not that one. Sorry. It's looking lovely. I love how Koigu drapes.
