Courthousestep-Blanket - Stick a fork in me I'm done!

I had to wait for some sunshine to take pictures. I can't quite believe it myself, but the blanket is done (since yesterday)! Done! Done! Done! I was close to doing away with myself and I've promised myself that I would not start another blanket this year! Cross my fingers and hope to die! This was my third blanket this year. I've finished this Log Cabin and the Curve of Pursuit as well. What else can I say? Let the pictures speak for themselves and just for the curious among you all, here are some specs:

weight: 1773 g

pattern: inspired by the Mason Dixon Book

yarn: Webs- Valley Yarns, Longmeadow, 60% cotton 40% microfiber, about 35 50g balls (6 balls red for the border and about 5 balls for each color, the lightest colors a little less)

needles: 4mm

finished size: 64" x 70"

start: June 2006

finish: November 20th

Hey! Thanks for YOUR comment! You find your power animal by meditating and the animal that comes to you is it. It cannot be forced and not everybody always finds it on the first time. I'm really new to meditating and recognizing my spirituality but it seems right some how...

I followed the link from the Mason-Dixon Knitalong. Your blankets are both gorgeous and your sense of color is sensational. I have been struggling with my own log cabin effort, still sorting out color selection which is tricky...but so worth it when I see gorgeous interpretations like yours!

Oh my gosh, this is *amazing*! This really must be one of the most beautiful blankets I've seen for long - great color mix, and it seems to be so soft and cozy with the yarn you've been using for it! Fantastic work!

Ditto what everyone else has said. Really great photos! I can see why you're proud of the blanket but also why you're happy to be done. I'm still trying to find all the yarns I know I have somewhere that will make my own log cabin.

What a beautiful blanket! I'm so impressed! Your other blankets are quite lovely, as well. I have a whole stash of yarn set aside for blanket-knitting, but I don't know when I'll ever find the time.

Wow Monika - you really do put me to shame. I must get back to work on my OCLC at some point (I'm still at 11+ squares)

I also *love* your choice of colours - it gives the project so much depth. Good work - great job - betcha aren't going to start another blanket any time soon are you?

And isn't there one more blanket that you're working on in separate squares? How's that coming?
