May Day socks!

Alright, it's June, and I still have to show you my second pair of socks I made in May. This is another Anni Design sock, called "May Day". It was from the Sockamania Sock Club May 2007. This sock design was the reason I joined the club (I saw it on other blogs), and Anni offered this pattern again this May, as a one year celebration. Of course after finishing the other May socks, I had to cast on for these! I was surprised how the yarn behaved, but really shouldn't have been. The color is called "crazy color", enough said. I thought it would make nice stripes. I still like it though.
Look at that beautiful heel!I changed the toe part. Just went with the flow, and I really like it.

The only thing I'm not crazy about here is the fact, that the leg part slouches. :o(

pattern: May Day by Anni Design, May 2007
yarn: Regia 4-fach, 2 x 50g, color # 5443, crazy color
needles: 2.5mm, 5 DP
size: to fit my feet (L)
start-finish: May 8 - 10

June will not be as productive, knitwise, as May was. The going on QAL shawl is very slow now. Yesterday I didn't even pick it up, so no progress there. (by the way Monica, it's not flowing off my needles as easily as you'd think, no fairy blood in my veins, no magic either) ;o)
I'm on row 128 of 160 now, way over 500 stitches, and one round takes forever. It's still fun though.
Today we'll get 31C which will feel like 43C because of the humidity. Alone the thought of it, makes me want to cry. I hate that kind of weather. The A/C will be turned on today.
Have a great weekend!

The sock is beautiful and yes the heel is awesome. I have to agree with Monica you definitely have some awesome knitting magic in your veins.

What a great design and a perfect use for that type of patterned yarn. It reminds me a bit of the jaywalker socks. I guess that type of design while beautiful doesn't have the "gripping" power of a rib style sock pattern. Sure makes a nice looking sock, though.

A/C must have been invented by a knitter in summertime. I love the look of those socks. Not my colors but absolutely beautiful.

I like that the socks don't stripe...really shows off the pattern nicely :)

I love the colorway you used! I think they turned out fabulous! If you are really unhappy with the 'slouchiness' of them, I'd be happy to take them off your hands for you! Ha! :)

Monika, they're just beautiful! I am amazed that you can knit a pair of socks so quickly. Yes, your needles ARE smoking hot!

supertolle Socken! Das Muster ist wunderschön und ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass man sowas mit der Wollfärbung stricken kann. Und wie schön gleichmässig Du strickst!

Man, those are gorgeous!! I absolutely LOVE that heel (it's some sort of problem with me... I adore a well-knit heel!)

Another frameable pair! Absolutely gorgeous! Funny, I never would have chosen a skein in those colors but they're so attractive knit up! Wow!

gorgeous socks
doesn't that heat make it hard to knit with wool - my pumpkin grasshopper was hardly moving today.

Very cool socks! The colors are great too! (that's weird about the Regia Crazy... I bought some recently under the impression that they'd stripe too...hm)
