And a big medal goes to ....

Willis Carrier - I'd like to hug him, and thank him profoundly! I would perish, without him inventing central air conditioning!

Wet pictures of Biko after swimming are coming soon. But for now, here's Sam, all wet, hosed down. It was fun, he tried to get away from the cold water, he was annoyed and barked at me, at first - but soon he realized how being wet was great in this heat. He came and bit the water coming out of the hose, and got soaking wet in the process. Now we are inside again. Unfortunately the water in the pool is still too cold for us, but I'm tempted to suck it up, and jump in anyways. I'm cheap, I don't want to waste energy to heat the pool - it's large!
Sam loves to be rubbed down with a towel. In fact he likes it so much, that he wants a rub down even if he's not wet at all. I just have to grab a towel and there he is.

After our wet watery fun, I hold up the towel and he comes up to me, shakes off excess water right in front of me, the fun never ends, and I rub him down, while Biko is standing in line, she too likes that. Once inside there is a run for the air shafts. This time Sam won (with me close behind him). Now he's hogging it.

Wet paws! Is this the same camera as before? Really?

Whatever!
I'm trying my best to work against the heat. With cool fresh fruit, and imagines of winter....

... as well as spinning merino/bamboo blend, called "Mist"! I'm off to find a fan to point at me, while spinning.

QAL shawl: finished round 138/160. There's about 700 stitches now, can't do more than 3 or 4 rounds before I have to do something else. Nothing else on the needles. I'm fighting the urge to cast on new things. Can't decide what anyway.

I love when you post photos of the dogfaced kids, just the other day I was singing their praises to Jason.
Mmmmmm, cherries!

700 stitches per row - that's a lot!!! I love the pictures - particularly seeing who won the air vent contest. Like you I live in an A/C environment all Summer and dream of cooler days. Your cherries look very refreshing :)

I always love the doggie pics! And learning about the "inside" race to the A/C vents to escape the heat. Maybe Biko will win the next one (or does she run for her own A/C vent)?

The no. of pattern rows left to do are getting smaller and smaller and smaller. You are doing a great job on this shawl! I can't wait for the finished pics showing all of your efforts and hard work in the beautiful lace patterns of the shawl.

The roving is beautiful...can't wait to see how it spins up.
Sam knows a good thing. My doggie loved the towel massage too. We called him our little race horse when I would leave the towel draped over him.
Stay cool!

I can't believe your dog is hogging the AC. That's so hysterical!

Never had a pool so I don't know, but if you heat it up now, can't you just turn the heat off and it will stay warmed up unless it gets cool again? Or does it cool off fast because it's below ground surface and it's cold underground?

Is it hot again today? We have the AC on and I haven't cracked a window or a door. :) I wanted to go spin on the deck, but not if it's roasting.

Imagine 6 hairy dogs and two weeks of all day wet weather!

Yay for AC :) I don't know how we managed before we had it?

I don't think I could function without my air conditioner. That is definitely some cool looking roving. You can pretend it's ice!

That fiber is beautiful! I'm a new spinner, but haven't done anything in the last few weeks. The last time I did, I had all sorts of trouble. Looking back I think it was because it was my first time spinning with superwash.

Lovely pictures of the dog! I hope you will get cooler weather soon (I don't like warm weather also). Love the cherries and the roving.

All hail Willis Carrier! That is so funny that Sam hogs the air vent. Our Rohan loves towels to. He will do a crazy happy dance for either a towel or his leash.

The mist roving looks so nice. I've never spun bamboo blend. I'm anxious to hear more about it. Hang in there with the melting heat it shouldn't be much longer for the pool to be warm enough.

I can't complain about cold weather here. We were at our public pool for 3 hours yesterday and my boys got quite a tan. I had to sit in the shade in shorts and tank top, since my search for a swimsuit turned out blaaa and I had to order one in the mail (VS). If I don't use sunscreen and an umbrella, I lobster.

I cannot relate to your hot weather. It's been cool and wet for much of our spring - it's only 11 degrees today and I have my heavy sweater on. While I would love some heat, not so much the humidity - Alberta is dry, at least. My dogs seek the rays to lie in when they are there - we don't even have A/C, except in our vehicles. Knitting can't be all that appealing when its so sticky out. Hope we switch weather soon - that would make us all happy.

Oh, I LOVE the Sam pictures!

I haven't filled Taenzer's wading pool yet; i figure the mosquitos have enough places to breed this year. We've got lots and lots of big ones, too. I'm going to try one of those citronella candle things and see if that helps any.

Poor pups. We know how they feel. The Labradors hate the Sumnmer but like nothing better than a walk in the rain on a cold day. And in the heat, they lie in front of the cooler too!!!

Our Riley used to run straight to an air conditioner vent also. Funny how some does do, and some don't. Our current two don't bother with them.

Love the pic of the air conditioner hoarder! I definitely know that feeling :) That "mist" is a very cooling color indeed!
