... so I let him loose in our back yard, so he could run around. He did not do a lot of running, but was trying to dig to China or something ...
With him was his red Frisbee, an orange rubber stick with a rope loop (we call it Dynamite), and a foot ball.
Of course I regret my decision:
because he did not want to be cleaned up. I had to give him a sponge bath, because the hose was too cold, so was the wading pool. He only stepped in with his front paws, and squealed like a pig. Sigh. The dirt will come off eventually, and I have a strong vacuum cleaner.

HAHAHAHA I have an incident multiple times spring like this with my Pyrenees. She lures me in with good behavior "I'm not going to dig this time" for about 4 days, and then on day five, I'll be less vigilant and BAM Muddy dog everywhere. It just makes her so darn happy I can't care too much (and I hate to mop)
ReplyDeleteooohhhh, I'm dieing ... I can see it happening here soon
ReplyDeleteOh Happy!
ReplyDeleteWell at least he enjoyed himself. It kind of looks like he's playing in chocolate pudding!
Oh, my! He's like my two -- the dirtier and muddier he gets the better he likes it! lol!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh. I'm cringing and I only have to deal the photos! This makes me happy that Nimitz steps around puddles. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL. This is why I said if we get a puppy again, it'd be AFTER spring mud, and soon enough before fall to be house trained before I'd have to deal with mud and cold nights again, LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh dear!! Lunil is very similar, but at least she's blonde and doesn't show the dirt quite as revoltingly as Happy. I really don't envy you the cleaning, but he *did* enjoy himself.
ReplyDeleteHe does look like he enjoyed himself though!
ReplyDeleteYou are a good doggy momma!
ReplyDeleteOoooooh my! I feel your pain, but at least my dogs aren't white (and if they can stand swimming in the pond and in the creek and the river right now, they can stand the garden hose!!!)
ReplyDeleteThis might cheer you up -- that's a lot of knitting:

Holy crap, is he dirty! At least he has short hair.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here saying "oh no" over and over again - I don't think I'll complain about my dogs getting dirty again!
ReplyDeleteI love the first picture though
But how happy he is, with his toys, his mud and the hole!!! One look at his face and I melt!!!
ReplyDeleteWow. Sadie and Happy would have a great time together. Sadie loves to play in the mud, too.
ReplyDeleteYou are a GREAT dog mom for letting Happy have such fun. I see so many people at the dog park who won't let their dogs get dirty and/or wet. (Boggles my mind.)
Oh my gosh! I think my favorite is the picture of his tongue sweeping past his perfectly mud-coloured snout.
ReplyDeleteI will never again complain about having to clean up my little pooch .I feel your pain , but he looks like he's having a blast . With a face like that I bet you can't stay mad at him...
ReplyDeleteI love all these pics, he looks like he had a great time. The one with his tongue out is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAlthough the clean up stinks, how happy it makes them is worth it...most of the time! (Not before I'm heading to work though and in uniform...). We've got our own mud hole Monty frequents almost daily. Darn Seattle rain.
ReplyDeleteOh my Goodness! Many years ago my childs did the same thing ;-)) and they had the same fun, too. Aren´t we good mum´s??
ReplyDeleteOy, what a mess! You know the saying (that I just made up), 'the dirtier they are the funner it was'. It's only dirt, after all.
ReplyDeleteI hope he had good nap fterwards.
Absolutely hilarious! He had the time of his life I can see that. Vanilla would do the same all the time. LOL! I can so see them partying.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. God.
ReplyDeleteSo instead of shrieking "Happy NOOOOOOOO!!!" you grabbed your camera??
You're a MUCH more tolerant and patient dog mom than I am!!
(He's so freaking cute!)
Ah, the joys of the muddog.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I gotta say, the mud is a heck of a lot better than what my dogs used to get into. Ugh.
TOOOO funny! You need a black dog! My parents' dog, Lily, did that to a toilet paper roll once when she was a puppy. Daddy missed her and found her sitting in the middle of a HUGE pile of shredded toilet paper. She's white and all you could see was her black nose and eyes!
ReplyDeleteYou may feel sorry for him... but I feel sorry for you - LOL He does look like he's enjoying himself ;) That hole looks large enough to plant something - like a tree!
