I've always liked chevron stitch patterns. When I first saw Emily's Crosswalkers, I liked both her yarn choice, and the pattern. The ones she made are more like anklets, but I like mine a bit longer on the leg.
It turned out to be a tiny bit boring to knit, and the toe part looks funny. I don't think I made any modifications, except making them longer. Normally I don't suffer SSS, but this time I had to hurry to cast on for the second sock, otherwise it might have stayed a single sock, and I really do need two!
pattern: Crosswalker by Emily B. Miller
yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit "Stile" # 8001, 75% wool 25% polyamid
needles: 5 DP - 2.25mm
size: 10.25 inches
destination: my feet
start-finish: April 9-13
This is how far I've come with my Bosnian crochet pot holder. Since it's only slip stitches it grows very slowly. I might have half of it done. The only thing you need to do here is, be able to count to ten. :o)
I'm not keen on this pattern or the Jaywalker pattern...I don't know why...everyone else seems to love it so! But I do love the yarn and the way it stripes up in the sock. I'll have to remember to look for it next time I'm in the yarn shop.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more of the Queen Anne's Lace, and the potholder...well, you are a more patient woman than I! :)
they may not have been fun to knit but they sure do look great! Love the yarn you chose.
ReplyDeletethe queen ann's lace is just stunning! i love the colors of it...
ReplyDeleteWhether you are crosswalking or jaywalking your socks always rock! The Queen Anne's Lace shawl looks beautiful and almost like you are using a boucle/nubbly yarn. Are you sure that potholder isn't really going to be a hat?
ReplyDeleteWas für schöne Socken! Das ist wohl - neben dem Jaywalker-Muster - ein perfektes Sockenmuster für ringelnde Wolle!!
ReplyDeleteViele liebe Grüße
Tanja
I love how the shawl picture looks positively luminescent!
ReplyDeleteThe socks are great too!
ooo nice crosswalkers! I started a pair of socks last night. Toe-up riverbed Cat Bordhi socks...Um yeah, I'm ripping them today....my gauge was 16 stitches to the inch!!! I might be crazy but I'm not stupid!! LOL
ReplyDeleteCute socks and I agree, two is better than one in this case. I think that potholder would drive me crazy, since it seems to take forever. I want those projects to be instant gratifivation.
ReplyDeleteI love the happy stripes - great socks!
ReplyDeleteYou're crossing off a list of needlework you must accomplish? Double knitting, Bosnian crochet - so far the results are fabulous! Poor you and that DK scarflette but it's really darling.
ReplyDeleteThe crosswalkers are cute too! I need anklets. It hit 40 celcius here last Thurs.
You ONLY have to count to 10! Do you know how difficult it is to count past 5 correctly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing off your work.
I like the yarn you used for the socks. Striping without self-striping and the colors work together really well.
ReplyDeleteI think your socks looks great!
ReplyDeleteAnd the potholder turns out great too.
Very nice colors! I really like the colors you have chosen in each of your projects and I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of your Queen Anne's lace shawl.
ReplyDeleteDie Socken sind ja der Hammer. Super der Effekt mit der froehlichen Ringelwolle.
ReplyDeleteYour crosswalkers are fabulous :)
ReplyDeleteBosnian crochet...now that's very new to me. I need to know more....looks oh so interesting :)
The socks look great! The design makes the foot look slender! Can't wait to see the Queen Anne's Lace shawl. Not that the knitter / bloggers are rushing you or anything!
ReplyDeleteI like your socks too. I know what you mean about starting the second sock of a boring pattern straight away. I never want to fall prey to SSS either. Can't wait to see your other finished projects. The pot holder looks like knitting? I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very pretty shot of the lace with the sun. I might be making that one soon. I like the look of the potholder as well. I hope you get it done soon! :-)
ReplyDeleteThose are *seriously* cool socks!! I wonder if I have any yarn that would turn out that well in that pattern? I LOVE THEM!!
ReplyDeleteThe socks are beautiful. I am glad you finished them!
ReplyDeleteLove those socks! I like the colors and especially the way it striped. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those Crosswalkers! So fun. :)
ReplyDeleteNice crosswalker socks! I'll have to try those sometime. That potholder is looking very cute!
