Gentleman Socks for a Lady!

pattern: free Gentleman Socks by Kristi
yarn: online Supersocke 100 Summer - color 789, 45% cotton, 40% wool, 15% polyamide
needle: 2.25mm DP
Gauge: 6 1/2 sts = 1", 10 rows = 1"
destination: my feet
modifications: I used only the stitch pattern, the heel and toe construction are my basic sock knitting construction. I knit the leg part only 6", that's what I do for summer socks. My winter warm socks I knit 8 inches.

The stitch pattern is easy, still I managed to screw it up now and then, so I had to tink back from time to time. I love how it looks, but I don't think I'll use it again any time soon.

Mr. Pumpkin is still alive and kicking! ;o)

I'm participating in the Walker Treasury Project, which was a wonderful idea by Nicole . The following two swatches are my contribution so far. I think even swatches can be beautiful.

I made this swatch with self dyed yarn. Easter egg colores, yellow and green.

This swatch I knit first and dyed it later, Easter egg colors as well.
That's all.

  8. I think I'd love Heike too! (Yes, I'm like 5 posts behind on you!)

Those socks are gorgeous. That looks like the twisted stitch pattern I did my pink shawl in. After the first 4 feet, it got easy. ;)

Oooh, pretty swatches! I love that BGW site. It's so nice to see the swatches in color.

  9. How summery!
My mother kept a little pumpkin from last fall. My daughter (4) saw it in the basement in March, and I told her Grandma must be Cinderella, LOL.

  14. I absolutely love your orange Gentleman's socks! The yarn is gorgeous and works well with the pattern. Very autumn-y feel to the socks even without the pumpkin next to them. ;)
