How could I not?

Buy this pattern, that is. It's the Mitered Cross Blanket for Japan by Kay Gardiner of Mason-Dixon Knitting Blog.

As Kay says,"The designer will donate all proceeds from the sale of downloads of this pattern to Mercy Corps (http://www.mercycorps.org/). In 2011, these donations will be designated for Japan earthquake/tsunami relief, and thereafter to support Mercy Corps’ relief work."

I love blankets, and this one's going to be wonderful, once Kay's done with knitting it. I'm looking forward to it. I'm not going to be able to cast on any time soon, but it's going to happen at some point. :o)

I might knit a sample square though, just to get the feeling of it....

And so that this is not a total picture less post here's the pups:

and the Maggster: we still have a little snow, or I shouldn't call it that any more, it's more like a plate of ice in shady areas. We are in the backyard in the mornings, when the ground is still frozen, so they can run around. The rest of the day it's a mud fest, so walks on the leash is what they get, until the mud situation gets better.

You do love blankets and it is lovely.
Those pups were making the most of the snow before it went. They all look very glad to be in the snow!!

Those photos really show the difference in personality between Denny and Happy. Hope the mud clears out soon. So far we've been ok here but I'm sure it'll get muddier once it warms up and stays warms.

I love that blanket! It looks amazing with the Noro.

Hope the muddiness goes away soon so the pups can run around freely again :o)

Thanks for the link to the blanket! It looks beautiful.

And I haven't had much problem with spam since Blogger instituted its new spam service.

The Noro is perfectly used in that blanket. So pretty!

We are bracing for a blizzard, believe it or not. I'm starting to think that Spring will never arrive for real.

Great idea ~ thanks for sharing the pattern link :) I have a ton of Noro Kureyon and maybe that will gobble up some of it - LOL

Is that Maggie???? Wow she has gotten so tall and lean. She'll be taller than Happy, I think.

Yup, gotta get one of those patterns for Japan.

I adore that last picture of Maggie with those huge ears in all their glory.
